What Was Presented at the Foundation’s Presentation

Conference participants were presented with the key areas of the Foundation’s work and its core projects. Among them is the international initiative #unrussiaUN, aimed at exposing the crimes of the Russian Federation at the United Nations Organization as a permanent member of the Security Council; educational programs, in particular “Roots and Wings: History That Unites“; projects for preserving historical and cultural heritage, supporting independent Ukrainian media, cultural initiatives in various countries of the world, analytical research, and the development of international cooperation.

The Pylyp Orlyk Foundation is a proponent of a comprehensive approach that combines education, culture, analytics, international advocacy, and information activity to strengthen the Ukrainian voice and affirm Ukraine’s presence in the world.

“The international format of the conference made it possible not only to present the activities of the Pylyp Orlyk Foundation, but also to establish professional contacts with researchers and representatives of institutions from various countries of the world. Such meetings create opportunities for developing international cooperation, achieving results, and launching new partnerships and joint projects,” said Natalia Omelchuk.

About the “Ukraine in the World” Conference

The Conference of Ukrainian Studies “Ukraine in the World” was held for the first time in Lviv and launched a new international venue for the development of Ukrainian studies. The three-day event brought together more than 250 participants from 38 countries on six continents — researchers, lecturers, translators, educators, and representatives of state, academic, cultural, and public institutions.

The program of the three-day conference included dozens of panel discussions, research laboratories, round tables, presentations of research centers, foundations, book publications, and international projects. Among the key topics were the development and decolonization of Ukrainian studies, the Ukrainian language and literature in a global context, Crimean Tatar studies, cultural heritage and historical memory, international cultural diplomacy, Russia’s war against Ukraine, information challenges, and the expansion of the global network of Ukraine’s achievements.

Who Organized the Conference

The conference was initiated by the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Institute, and the Ukrainian Catholic University with the participation of the Global Coalition of Ukrainian Studies. The event was supported by the International Renaissance Foundation and the “Mnozhyna” Foundation. The organizers plan to hold the conference annually, developing it as a permanent international venue for professional dialogue and cooperation among researchers of Ukraine from various countries of the world.

The participation of the Pylyp Orlyk Foundation in the conference became an opportunity to present the international academic community with the Ukrainian experience of achieving education, culture, analytics, international advocacy, and information activity. Such practical initiatives further expand the space of modern Ukrainian studies, contribute to the development of international cooperation, and strengthen Ukraine’s presence in the world.
