On May 19, New York (USA) will host the opening of the international exhibition Modern Freedom — a large-scale project presenting works by contemporary artists from Central and Eastern Europe who reflect on the experience of war, memory, trauma, and the struggle for freedom. The Pylyp Orlyk Foundation is a partner of the Ukrainian component of the exhibition.

This year, 556 students in Poland chose Ukrainian as their matura language — the national school-leaving examination required for university admission. On May 6, 2026, a landmark event took place in Poland: graduates sat the state exam — the matura — in Ukrainian as a foreign language for the first time. The exam programme was developed with the support of the Pylyp Orlyk Foundation and published with the assistance of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Poland.

On May 7 at 3:00 PM, the Primátor Hall of Hradec Králové will host the opening of the exhibition “War. Made in Russia” — a project dedicated to artifacts of the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian war. The exhibition’s partners are the Ukrainian Institute in Prague, the Magistrate of the City of Hradec Králové, and the Pylyp Orlyk Foundation.
