On March 8, 2026 at 15:00, a ceremonial event will be held in Copenhagen to mark the 212th anniversary of Taras Shevchenko’s birth. The memorial gathering will take place near the monument to the Ukrainian poet at Stockholmsgade 45, København Ø.
On February 28 – March 1, at the Royal Library of Copenhagen (Det Kgl. Bibliotek), the second meeting was held as part of the mentorship programme “Roots and Wings: History That Unites” — a two-day educational event for teachers of Ukrainian Saturday schools in Denmark.
This conversation focuses on the educational programme for Ukrainians abroad “Roots and Wings”, designed to preserve Ukrainian identity in forced emigration. Together with Lesia Ihnatyk-Eriksen, we discuss Denmark’s role in supporting Ukraine, the challenges facing Ukrainians who ended up there because of the war, and the importance of education as a tool for preserving roots and shaping the future.
February 24, 2026 — The Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic held a public hearing on the security of Ukraine, Europe and the Czech Republic itself. The event took place with the participation of Czech President Petr Pavel and was organised on the basis of a decision of the Senate plenary adopted a month earlier. The Pylyp Orlyk Foundation was informed of this by its partners — the Ukrainian Institute in Prague.
The exhibition is located around the Independence Monument and tells the story of the most important events of the protest that lasted 94 days — from November 2013 to February 2014.
