Cabinet of Ministers Approves Plan of Events for the 100th Anniversary of Symon Petliura’s Death
On May 1, 2026, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine published a decree approving the plan of events for the 100th anniversary of the death of Symon Petliura. The Pylyp Orlyk Foundation has joined the implementation of the initiative.

What the plan provides for
The document was developed by the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory. The plan envisages holding state and international events to commemorate the prominent figure of the Ukrainian Revolution of 1917–1921 and to promote his contribution to Ukraine’s struggle for independence.
The full text of the decree is available on the official website of the Cabinet of Ministers.
Exhibition “Path of Heroes. Symon Petliura”
The National Museum of the History of Ukraine has joined the formation and implementation of the initiative. On May 25, 2026, the exhibition “Path of Heroes. Symon Petliura” will open. It is based on the collection of the Military History Museum and the archive of the Ukrainian Free Academy of Sciences in Canada — an invaluable collection of artifacts from the Ukrainian liberation struggle for freedom and independence in the 20th century, which at the end of 2025 joined the museum’s archival holdings. As we previously reported, these materials were already presented in Kyiv during a media preview.
The project is being implemented in partnership with the Pylyp Orlyk Foundation. Previously, the Foundation signed a memorandum with the National Museum of the History of Ukraine on long-term cooperation.
