Ukrainian Cinema Week to Take Place in Prague
Ten Ukrainian films with Czech subtitles — over the coming week they will be presented in the Czech capital. From November 11–17, at the Prague cinema Kino Atlas, Ukrainian Cinema Week will take place, presenting contemporary Ukrainian cinematography to a European audience.
The festival is supported by the Pylyp Orlyk Foundation.

“Ukrainian cinema today is not only art, but the voice of a country fighting for freedom” — this is the festival’s slogan, as articulated by its co-organiser, Prague resident Lenka Vích.
Ukrainian Cinema Week in Prague is an act of cultural diplomacy, a way of speaking to the world in a language everyone understands: the language of cinema.
The festival programme includes ten films — both feature and documentary — reflecting the multifaceted nature of Ukrainian cinema.
The festival will open on November 11 at 19:00 with the documentary film by Mstyslav Chernov “2000 Metres to Andriivka”.
Also in the programme: “Mousetrap”, “Gray Bees”, “Honeymoon”, “Turnip Kings”, “Steppe”, “Djura the Prince”, “Dogpatch”, “Thread of Time”, “Malevych”.
The event was organised by the non-profit organisation “Ruta” in cooperation with the Ukrainian Initiative of Southern Moravia and “Kinovarta”, with the support of the Pylyp Orlyk Foundation, the Embassy of Ukraine in the Czech Republic, the British Council in the Czech Republic, the Ukrainian Journal and the Ukrainian Institute in Prague.
